About Us
Quincy Rug Works was established in 1926 as a carpet weaving company located on Maine St. and later moved to Eighth and Monroe. As time went by, oriental and area rug cleaning became the primary business.
When wall-to-wall carpet became popular, Quincy Rug Works began cleaning in customer’s homes. Over the years, several methods of cleaning were used, the modern method being hot water extraction, commonly known as “steam cleaning”. This method is the preferred method recommended by all major manufacturers.
Furniture cleaning, commercial carpet cleaning, and walk off mat services were added to Quincy Rug Works services.
Past owners of Quincy Rug Works were, Art and Marion Brown and their son Nelson. In 1990, Richard and Jennifer Bliven and their sons Rich Jr. and Michael purchased the business.
In November 2015, current owners Kevin & Jennifer Young acquired the business from longtime owner Rich Bliven! We are looking forward to providing all of Rich's long time customers the same great service and quality workmanship along with adding more satisfied customers! Longtime employee, Jesse Long, continues along with us to provide polite, professional service to our clients.

How soon can you clean?
We pride ourselves on being able to serve our customers on a timely basis! We schedule to our customers needs.

Can you get my stain out?
What kind of stains can you get out? QRW carries a variety of solutions for many different stain and soiling circumstances. We work with each customer to come up with the best solution for their needs.
How long will it take to clean?
Depends on size of area being cleaned, generally 1 hr to several hours.
How long will it take to dry?
Generally within 6-8 hours. It is best to minimize traffic during this period to prevent resoiling and pile distortion. Ceiling fans and/or HVAC system use can help accelerate the drying process.
Do you move furniture?
Yes! We can clean just the traffic areas, or for a more thorough cleaning we can move the furniture and clean the entire room.
Can you take care of pet odor/ urine in my carpet?
There are several options we can use to eliminate or reduce the appearance and odor of pet problems.
Do you clean other stuff besides house and furniture... Like cars, motor homes, and boats, etc?

Our service area is roughly a 60 mile radius of Quincy IL, jobs over 20 miles are assessed a travel fee.
How often should your carpets or rugs be professionally cleaned?
The answer depends on its location in your home.
Frequently used carpet should be professionally cleaned by a qualified technician at least once a year - perhaps a little longer interval for infrequently used carpet and even sooner for carpet in homes occupied by respiratory sensitive or allergic persons or in homes with indoor pets. Often, animals are drawn to rugs and can leave behind unpleasant surprises that require specialized treatment.
So how does Deodorization -ozone get rid of smells?
It chemically breaks down odor-causing molecules in any area where air is allowed to flow. One common scenario involves people who have “tried everything” to get rid of a smell, but are still left with lingering scents that just don’t seem to go away. One reason that ozone is effective in these situations is because, as a gas, ozone effectively “cleans” any place that air can go. This includes air, walls, ceilings, ductwork, carpet fibers, gaps between floorboards, cracks in walls, and more. Ozone is able to penetrate into these areas and destroy odors that it finds there.
Tips to keep your floors beautiful:
1. Vacuum high traffic areas daily, and everywhere according to a vacuuming schedule, using an SOA/Green Label-approved vacuum.
2. Clean spots and spills quickly with products that do not damage the carpet or cause it to resoil quicker.
3. Professionally deep clean your carpets every 12 to 18 months to remove embedded dirt and grime.
4. Stop dirt at the door by using mats outside and in, taking your shoes off when you enter the house and changing your air filters to reduce airborne dust particles.
5. Vacuum rugs on a regular basis. Fringe should be hand-vacuumed only.
6. When spills occur, scoop or blot-up the excess. Then dilute the area with water and blot - don't rub - until no more color is visible on your clean, white towel.
7. Ideally, rugs should be removed from the home or office to be professionally cleaned.
8. Rotate your rugs once a year to ensure even wear.
